Oct-Nov 2015 'Bottle Blonde' ATC Swap

****THIS SWAP IS NOW CLOSED****

The theme for this swap is:

              Bottle Blonde

The year has flown by and this is our last ATC swap for 2015.  We'll be back again in February 2016 for more ATC challenges. Our last ATC swap was a technique challenge which seemed popular with the group, so I'm setting another challenge.  Feel free to interpret the Bottle Blonde theme anyway you like but your ATC must include:

  • A bleaching technique, and
  • The colour yellow or gold.
If you're not familiar with papercraft bleaching techniques, here are a couple of tutorials from Splitcoast Stamper's which have good examples:  Stamping with Bleach and    Bleached Out Images

Guidelines:

  1. Australian papercrafters are encouraged to participate in this ATC swap.
  2. If you commit to this swap please, out of consideration for all participants meet the set deadlines.
  3. To participate, write a comment to add your name to the list of participants below and I will email you my address details.
  4. Post your ATCs and a stamped self addressed envelope to me on or by the posting deadline (see 7. below). I recommend that you put your ATCs into a plastic bag to protect them from bad weather.
    Deadline dates:
  5. Registration list for this swap opens Wednesday 23 September and closes Wednesday 30 September.
  6. To register to participate, please leave a comment before the closing date. I will then confirm the number of ATCs needed to be made for the current swap.
  7. Swaps must be in the mail to me by no later than Friday 20 November (as mail can take a business week to arrive to me, depending upon where you are located and I should receive them all by Friday 27 November at the latest).
  8. I will post swaps received on Monday 30 November at the latest so you should all receive your ATCs shortly thereafter.

Participation governance:

  • ATC swap numbers will be limited to ten people per swap.
  • Founding members have automatic entry into each swap (but still need to confirm their participation for each swap).
  • With the exception of founding members, participants will be eligible to take part on a 'first in' registration basis.

I do hope you will participate - any questions feel free to leave a comment.

What's an ATC?

An ATC is the acronym for Artist Trading Card.

For anyone new to ATCs, it's a small piece of original work that measures 2.5" x 3.5". There is no right or wrong way to create an ATC - you just need to stick to the measurements and the rest is up to your imagination.

Aug-Sept 2015 'Bokeh Bouquet' ATC Swap

****THIS SWAP IS NOW CLOSED****

The criteria for this swap is:

              Bokeh Bouquet

I thought we'd have a technique challenge for this swap.  Bokeh (pronounced 'bo-kay') whilst traditionally based on circles of light in photography has been a popular technique in papercrafting for a little while now, so let's have some fun with it.  Feel free to interpret this criteria anyway you like but your ATC must include:
  • Bokeh technique, and
  • At least one flower (can't have a bouquet without a flower).
Not sure what bokeh is - below is a link to my blog where I have posted a very quick tutorial on how to create a bokeh background: Angela's Bokeh tutorial

  1. Australian papercrafters are encouraged to participate in this ATC swap.

June-July ATC Swap 'It's Raining Men'

****THIS SWAP IS NOW CLOSED****

The criteria for this swap is:

              It's Raining Men (hallelujah)

We're heading into the winter and we haven't had a male themed ATC for a while so let's combine these two themes into one ATC.  OK, so now that you can't get the 'It's raining men, hallelujah' song out of your head, feel free to interpret this criteria anyway you like but your ATC must include:
  • Male theme, and
  • Include 'winter' colours such as black, grey or cool blues on your ATC (you don't have to use all these colours and you can use others, just keep to 'cool' colours).

Guidelines:

  5. Registration list for this swap opens Friday 22 May and closes Sunday 31 May.
  6. To register to participate, please leave a comment before the closing date. I will then confirm the number of ATCs needed to be made for the current swap.

Feb-Mar 2015 ATC Swap "Back to School"

****THIS SWAP IS NOW CLOSED****

Happy New Year and welcome back to another year of Ideal ATC Swaps.

The criteria for this swap is:

     Back To School

The school year will be starting soon and as I was buying my son's school supplies for his last year of High School I was thinking about how things have changed over the years.  Maybe I'm showing my age but remember being happy to the blackboard monitor and getting to clean the dusters? Going to a library and looking up index cards to find a book you needed for your project - no google then. Let your imagination run riot with your school experience and feel free to interpret this criteria anyway you like but your ATC must have:
  • Something that reminds you of your schooldays, and
  • Include at least one primary colour (from the colour wheel being red, yellow or blue).

Guidelines:

  • Founding members have automatic entry into each swap (but still need to confirm their participation for each swap).
  • With the exception of founding members, participants will be eligible to take part on a 'first in' registration basis.
